Welcome To "The Flying Deuces".
Abbott & Costello and Laurel & Hardy Appreciation Club.
We are a local double act fanclub based in Newbury, West Berkshire. We are avid fans of both "Laurel and Hardy" and "Abbot and Costello". We meet regularly with like minded people to have fun and enjoy proper comedy.
Meet ups will be (hopefully) once a month, where we can eat, drink, be merry and watch one of the many movies available. These will be at some nice venue in the local area and food can be provided from many a tasty takeaway.
If you would like to find out more information about us, see about joining or apply for one of our positions, then please email us on info@theflyingdeuces.co.uk.
To have an official fez wearing tent we need members. Our Constitution declares that club officers "shall have no authority whatever" - but are necessary for a successful tent: Of which we need the following positions filled. Grand Sheik (chairman) in charge of the tent's operation. Duties include arranging for films, equipment, meeting place, publicity, etc. Vice-Sheik (vice chairman) whatever it takes to assists in the tents operation. Grand Vizier (secretary) - handles the club mailings, takes notes of any decisions made by the club. Sub-Vice-Vizier (treasurer).
We are a collection of fans in the Newbury, West Berkshire area. We're not just fans of Laurel and Hardy, but also Abbott and Custello. So it only seems fitting to combine the two passions. Two for the price of one. There is fan clubs for each duo but not a combined club so we are pretty unique in this endeavour.
Phillip is currently our Grand Sheik (chairman) and Grand Vizier (secretary / editor). Please go easy on him as he's senior in yearsWe have a monthly magazine called "Pardon my Sarong" named after a 1942 Abbott and Costello movie. It's in no way to be taken seriously, it's a playful bit of fun which costs nothing to produce using Publisher and saving as a PDF. We can only use the tent pegs we have. If our tent becomes too big then we MAY charge a fee and produce a professional colour magazine three times a year. The membership fee would also be used to hire a bigger tent for meetings

There are Abbott & Costello fan clubs, and there are Laurel & Hardy fan clubs. But we believe we are unique in the sense that we have the only combined fan club of BOTH double acts.
I have started to create some scripts of my own listed under "Newsletters". Please take a look and enjoy. Theres a few each for the duo's and then one called "Laurel and Hardy Meet Abbott and Costello at the Car Wash" which is a screenplay.
